“The essential things in life are seen not with the eyes, but with the heart”

Two magical and beautiful books to read

The Little Prince” by Antoine de Saint Exupéry is probably my favorite book, at the same level than “La nuit des temps” by Barjavel. Those 2 are really beautiful books about love and friendship thru the ages and times. I highly recommend reading them, they’re both of them (very too) short novels.

I remember this beautiful quote in The Little Prince :

Here is my secret. It is very simple. It is only with the heart that one can see rightly, what is essential is invisible to the eye

And I think it’s true and is almost the same in the artistic branch. Whatever you’re a painter, photographersculptor or writer… it’s when you can’t remove anything more of your work that you reach the pith and marrow of your Art.

Children crossing the main road in PontsengIt also works with the human relationships. It’s remarkable to see how many new friends you have when you become famous or wealthy… they’re all parasites trying to catch and seize some of your success and light, like the court of the king. But when the king falls, they’re the first to behead you and mock you!

But when you don’t own anything more than your pants and a simple roof over your head, the greatest wealth is to take care for each other with your closest friends and family, like on this photograph where this oldest brother helps his younger brother to go back home.

They probably quarrel often in the schoolyard or at home but, at the end, they take care of each other and they face together adversity and difficulties!

  1. my 2 favorite books ever, too! and that quote by Saint-Exupéry is one of the best in the world to follow and live by every day.
